Match Review: Chelsea FA Cup

Match Review

So much has been said regarding our performance against Chelsea in the FA Cup, It was in many ways typical United. So in control yet never finished opposition off when so in control.

When we played Chelsea in Moscow we should have been three up after half an hour and just like Sunday Chelsea rallied, found Belief and could and maybe should have won the FA Cup tie.

Difference was in Moscow we too rallied back whereas Sunday, feeling the effects of midweek we hung on against – in my opinion – the poorest Chelsea team in last decade. Off the pitch the atmosphere was average and obviously there was a bit of a hangover from the Real Madrid defeat and the manner of it.

In the 80s Chelsea’s home crowds dipped embarrassingly low but they had a really impressive away following, which is a million miles from the replica clad post Roman fans they now attract.

They would have easily sold 9000 in the bad Old days yet the club Peter Kenyon promised to make the biggest in the world sold a paltry 4500 out of 9000 initially offered. Another project not quite gone as planned eh?

If we ever get around to playing the FA cup replay we have a great chance of more revenge against city, but i personally just want to win our next few league games and get that trophy back, the one we always want more than anything .
